The Skillman Foundation will match personal contributions
until they reach a total of $500,000. Last year’s matching funds
were depleted by mid-June.
Camp Wellness will provide summer
enrichment activities for children aged 7-14 who have experienced a
serious emotional disturbance. Through your contribution, 40
low-income children with mental health issues will participate in
dance, martial arts, reading and literacy activities that will foster
self-esteem and emotional security.
Coming from neighborhoods where they experience lack of
adequate housing, poor nutrition and insufficient medical care they
often fall through the cracks and have no positive experiences to give
them hope.
“The
camp gets children out of the house and away from the television.
They make friends,
work
in arts and crafts and get exercise."
-- Program
Director, Paula Paulina
