Behavioral health services are designed to provide treatment prevention and educational services for children, adolescents and young adults. Services include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, community support services, case management, crisis intervention, specialty groups, family education and individualized therapy developed to help the child/adolescent successfully function in home and school settings. Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) eligibility is determined by assessing the acuity of symptoms, duration of symptoms and degree of functional impairment. NIH provides supports coordination and Applied Behavior Analysis referrals for Autism (age 0-21) and services to persons of all ages diagnosed with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
